Encircling the Long Water and with the magnificent palace in the background, the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show offers an idyllic setting for a day of home-grown fun which the whole family can enjoy. This year’s show will boast new features as well as enough ideas, plants, and gardening products to tempt gardeners of all ages.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show will host displays of floral design, inspiration for small spaces and budgets, as well as marquees filled with roses and rare plants. Restaurants, caf├ęs and picnic areas offer the chance to relax in truly magnificent surroundings. The hundreds of shops and stands provide products and accessories for every gardener, from secateurs and planters to barbeques and gazebos.

This year’s show will include:

• World of Gardens, a new feature of the show, which will represent different countries and regions of the world from Switzerland to the Caribbean.
• Low Cost, High Impact Gardens, a new competition launched this year in conjunction with the Association of Professional Landscapers, which will illustrate a diverse range of gardens achieved within certain budgets.
• Popular, prestigious and regular features of the show, including the Show Gardens, Summer Gardens and Conceptual Gardens.
• Grow Your Own, which once again will showcase all aspects of fruit, vegetable and herb growing.
• David Domoney, who will be returning with a gardening and lifestyle “chat show” themed theatre.
• RHS and Groundwork Feature: Urban Greening. The RHS is linking with environmental regeneration charity Groundwork to celebrate its 30th anniversary and demonstrate the social benefits of urban greening.
• Rose and Floristry displays will join as one this year and will include the launch of the Rose of the Year 2013. The theme will be “Romance and Roses”, which will be interpreted using inspiration from mythological characters, romantic poets, sonnets and plays.
• The popular Scarecrow Competition will also be returning and will feature primary schools from the South East. This year the competition will take on a “Sporting Champions” theme, in celebration of the Olympic Games.
