FAMILY EVENTS

Sat 28 March - Sun 12 April, 10am - 4pm
Easter Family Fun including the Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt

See how many of the famous golden bunnies you can spot in the garden. Throughout the holidays there will be fun-filled indoor craft activities and outdoor workshops. You can also meet the Easter bunny himself over the Easter weekend. Normal garden admission.

National Open Gardens Day

Bring friends and family to visit Harlow Carr’s inspirational 58 acre site for FREE and discover the advantages of becoming an RHS member. Normal garden opening times apply.

Sat 18 – Sun 19 April, 10am - 4pm
Spring Gardening and Wildlife Weekend

Come and share in the RHS’s wealth of gardening knowledge to celebrate National Gardening Week. Round up the family and discover the joys of growing plants to help encourage and support wildlife in your own garden. It doesn’t matter how much space you have or your level of experience, there will be something to interest everyone.

Grow For Flavour with James Wong: Talk and Book Signing

To mark National Gardening Week, TV botanist and bestselling author James Wong will be at Harlow Carr talking about his new book, Grow For Flavour (2pm) and signing copies. James will reveal how to get better flavour from your home-grown produce, explaining how growing the best-tasting cultivars and treating them a bit meaner will not only result in crops with an intense flavour but also cut down the work involved. Bonsai Open Day

Enjoy bonsai displays and bring along your own bonsai for advice and growing tips from the Bonsai Group. Normal garden admission.

Thurs 30 April, 11am start
Children’s Storytime

Come and join a storytelling session, where tales of great garden adventures and little garden creatures will be told. Each session will be followed by a short walk or song. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable for under 5s.
 

EXHIBITIONS

Until Sun 12 April, 10am - 4.30pm
Easter Arts and Craft Exhibition
Find a wide range of art and craft, much with a wildlife theme. Handmade jewellery, ceramics, textiles, photographs and much more will all be on offer. There will also be opportunities to meet the talented makers and see demonstrations. *Normal garden admission applies.

14 April –10 May, 10am – 4.30pm
The Ceramic and Glass exhibition

For the first time, Harlow Carr hosts an exhibition focusing solely on glass and ceramics, in a wide range of styles. Normal garden admission.


ADULT EDUCATION COURSES & WORKSHOPS

Wednesday 1 April, 10am - 4pm
Growing Herbs for the Kitchen

Find out about the culinary and medicinal properties of herbs, how to propagate and cultivate them, and how to plan a herb garden. You can also sow some herbs to take away.

Saturday 11 April, 10am - 4pm
Make a Marvellous Mosaic

Learn how to cut and lay glass and tiles to create a framed mosaic to take home.

Monday 27 April, 10am - 12pm
Guided Walk: Lawns, turf and all things grassy

Take the mystery out of lawn maintenance, with advice on mowing, weeding and feeding.
