The best-selling author and broadcaster will be launching the Christmas Shop and signing copies of her books

RHS Garden Wisley will be getting the Christmas season off to a stylish start this year as it welcomes the wonderful Mary Berry to officially open the Wisley Christmas Shop on Saturday 26th October. The best-selling author and broadcaster will be putting the final touches to the Wisley Christmas tree and signing copies of her books, including her autobiography Recipe for Life, between 11am and 2pm. Visitors looking for the perfect present for their loved ones are invited to come along.

Copies of all of Mary’s books will be available to buy from the gift shop which has one of the largest gardening book sections in the world as well as a huge selection of inspirational seasonal gifts to suit all tastes and ages. Visitors will also be able to hunt for perfect presents at the Wisley Plant Centre which stocks over 10,000 different plants, from Christmas favorites like poinsettias to the rare and unusual.

The opening of the Christmas Shop is the start of a parade of festive activities taking place at Wisley this winter. From the Christmas Craft and Design Fair (27 Nov – 1 Dec), the Christmas Art Exhibition (28 Nov – 8 Dec), Christmas displays in the Glasshouse (7 Dec – 5 Jan), festive lunches and to top it all off, the Enchanted Story Trail (21 Dec – 5 Jan). About the RHS
The Royal Horticultural Society was founded in 1804 by Sir Joseph Banks and John Wedgwood for the encouragement and improvement of the science, art and practice of horticulture. We held our first flower shows in 1820, were granted a Royal Charter in 1861 and acquired RHS Garden Wisley, the first of our gardens, in 1903. From our first meetings in a small room off London’s Piccadilly, we have grown to become the world’s largest gardening charity.

Today the RHS is committed to providing a voice for all gardeners. We are driven by a simple love of plants and a belief that gardeners make the world a better place. 209 years on we continue to safeguard and advance the science, art and practice of horticulture, creating displays that inspire people to garden. In all aspects of our work we help gardeners develop by sharing our knowledge of plants, gardens and the environment.
