Have a Hoppy Easter at RHS Garden Wisley

Friday 5 February 2016

Easter events every day throughout the holidays, 19 March – 10 April

RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey celebrates Easter this year with a colourful programme of activities for the whole family, whatever the weather. Hop around the garden on the Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt, get stuck into arts and crafts, and enjoy the sights and sounds of spring.

This Easter, get kids outdoors with free activities available every day (25 March – 10 April) at RHS Garden Wisley. These include music, storytelling and hands-on activities for young gardeners. Join in the Lindt Gold Bunny Hunt (19 March – 10 April) to hop about the garden on the trail of the Lindt Gold Bunny, following clues to lead to a delicious Lindt treat. Wisley bursts into life in spring as fresh new foliage and beautiful blossom fill the garden. Spring bulbs will be blooming and, at the Hilltop Borders, a mass of daffodils in any colour except yellow are on display, along with colourful hyacinths full of scent.

As the days get longer and warmer, the garden flourishes with new life from flora and fauna. Families can make a day of it with den building and spotting spring wildlife from the bird hide. See birds of prey agility displays on 9 – 10 April and get to know these magnificent creatures up close.

Food lovers will be in for a treat with everything from traditional marzipan-topped simnel cake to indulgent rice crispies cake studded with chocolate eggs. The Taste of Wisley artisan bakery make Wisley hot cross buns – enjoy them out in the garden or buy a bag to take home. The Restaurant will be serving up a seasonal Easter-inspired menu, too.

About the RHS

The Royal Horticultural Society was founded in 1804 by Sir Joseph Banks and John Wedgwood to inspire passion and excellence in the science, art and practice of horticulture. Our vision is to enrich everyone’s life through plants, and make the UK a greener, healthier, happier and more beautiful place. We believe everyone in every village, town and city should benefit from growing plants to enhance lives, build stronger, healthier, happier communities and create better places to live.

We held our first flower shows in 1820, were granted a Royal Charter in 1861 and acquired RHS Garden Wisley, our flagship garden, in 1903. From our first meetings in a small room off London’s Piccadilly, we have grown to become the world’s largest gardening charity. At our gardens and shows and through our scientific research, publications, libraries and our education and community programmes we inspire a passion for gardening and growing plants, promote the value of gardens, demonstrate how gardening is good for us and explain the vital roles that plants undertake.

The RHS is committed to bring the joy of gardening to millions more people, inspire the next generation of gardeners and invest in the future to safeguard a £10.4 billion industry employing more than 300,000 people. We are entirely funded by our members, visitors and supporters. RHS membership is for anyone with an interest in gardening. Support the RHS and secure a healthy future for gardening.
